Toddlers 2-3 yrs

In this class room, we focus on four aspects of learning; language, social and emotional, cognitive and fine motor. In keeping with our philosophy of learning, we ensure that the children learn as they play. A typical day in this class room is very interactive.

In order to develop language, the children may sing to the wiggles or ‘row row row your boat’ as well as learn their alphabet by remembering it through song. The children learn socially and emotionally by dancing, playing peek a boo, dressing up, or having a tea party where they are encouraged to contribute by helping one another and enjoying themselves. Cognitive learning may include using magnets, putting puzzles together, building blocks, pulling things apart and putting them back together or serving ourselves fruit. Gross motor learning may include balancing oneself, climbing and jumping or playing with balloons. The children also develop their fine motor skills by painting, drawing or making collages. The children certainly have much fun while they learn! In order to record what your child learns, your child will have an individual portfolio with photos and samples of what they have done.
