Nursery Room 0-2 yrs

A typical day in the nursery room involves developing four areas of learning; language, social and emotional, cognitive and fine motor. In keeping with our philosophy of learning, we ensure that the children learn as they play. A typical weekly program would be as follows:

In order to develop language, the children will listen to a story being read as well as sing to simple songs such as ‘5 little ducks’ or ‘ring a ring a rosie.’ The children learn socially by playing with one another using soft toys, wooden blocks, or farm animals. Cognitive learning may include such things as finger painting and building blocks. Gross motor learning may include climbing, ball games, dancing or playing in the sand pit. The children also develop their fine motor skills by playing with play dough, and doing drawings. In order to record what your child learns, your child will have an individual portfolio with photos and samples of what they have done.

Your child will have their nappy changed four times a day. They will be given their bottles and plenty of time to rest between 11:30 and 1:30. Your child will always have the opportunity to play indoors and outdoors and to enjoy themselves in this learning environment.
